Applying gel is possible for natural nails using gel polish or on the tips as a
nail extension. The removal and refill are two related services that our salon provides for those clients who have applied gel or other nail extension material.
Gel removal is something that can be done at home; however, it is best for your nails' health to refer to a professional nail salon to do the job.
Provided that you want to remove your gel nails at home there are some steps to follow:
✓ Buff the surface of your gels using a coarse nail file to begin. This will allow the acetone to penetrate the clear topcoat that has been sprayed on the gels.
✓ Place a cotton ball soaked in acetone on top of your nail.
✓ Wrap a tiny square of foil around the cotton ball and your nail.
✓ Repeat for the rest of the nails on that hand.
✓ Let your nails sit for a while. Although 15 minutes is a fair length of time, the procedure might take less or more time depending on the product utilized.
✓ Remove the foil and cotton balls off your fingernails. The gel should be disintegrating at this point. If it isn't, soak your nails for a little longer.
✓ Using a cuticle pusher, gently remove any residual gel from your nails. After removing the coloured gel, you may notice some clear residue where the primer and first layer meet. Remove it by carefully washing your feet and smoothing it out with a 4-sided buffer.
✓ After that, rehydrate your toenail bed with cuticle oil and moisturizer. Now repeat the whole procedure on the other foot.
But what about
gel toenails refill?
This is a question we get a lot from our customers and followers, so now is the time to explain precisely what it is and why it is so important to know how to do professional retouching correctly!
When we talk about
Retouching - also known as refill - we're referring to the weekly maintenance that nails extension necessitates: the natural toenail continues to grow while the extended section of the gel nails travels away from the cuticles area. It's time to undertake the retouching or refill when the growth seems unattractive and the extended nails show the first indications of surrendering, which usually happens after 3-4 weeks.
